Best platform to monitor which prompts mention my brand

Which platform shows exactly which prompts mention your brand? Promptwatch, AthenaHQ, Scrunch AI, Profound and others compared on prompt-level tracking and pricing.

"Which prompts mention my brand" sounds like a small question. It is actually three questions stacked together. Which of the prompts I chose name me? Which prompts that I did not think of name me, or name a competitor instead? And when I am named, am I first in the answer or buried in a list of five?

A lot of tools answer the first question with a single percentage. That is a visibility score, not a prompt report. What you want is a platform where you can open a prompt, read the actual answers each engine gave, see who was mentioned and in what order, and then group those prompts into something you can act on.

This guide compares the platforms that do this, using published facts and our directory data. No tool can guarantee that an engine will mention a brand. They can only show you what is happening and where to look next.

What prompt-level monitoring should give you

  • The raw answers. You should be able to read what each engine said, not just see a score.
  • Mention rules you control. Brand aliases and instructions that decide what counts as a mention, so a misspelling or a product name does not slip through.
  • Per-prompt and per-engine results. Visibility by prompt, by model, by country.
  • Position, not just presence. Being named third in a list is different from being the recommendation.
  • A way to find prompts you did not write. Suggestions from real data, plus the sub-queries engines run behind the scenes.
  • Competitors in the same view. The question is rarely "am I mentioned" and often "who is mentioned instead".

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch fits the question most directly, because the unit of work is the prompt and the response.

Prompts are organized with topics, tags and prompt types (organic, brand, competitor comparison) plus intent, and tracked daily per model, country and language. A Brand Book holds analysis instructions that decide what counts as a mention, and brand aliases catch variants. For each prompt you get Visibility Score, Share of Voice, Sentiment (a 1 to 100 score per response) and Position in Answer, with A/B period comparison and a heatmap that compares any two dimensions, such as brands against models or topics against countries.

Finding prompts you did not think of is covered too. Prompt Explorer suggests prompts from Search Console, ranking keywords, People Also Ask or any page, Prompt Volumes show search volumes and difficulty scores, and query fan-outs show the sub-queries each model runs. Personas, with persona stacking, let you see how the same question lands for different buyers.

Then there is the "why". Citation analytics show which pages and domains the answers cite, and a Page Tracker follows specific URLs, yours or a competitor's. AI crawler logs show whether bots can read your pages in the first place.

Plans: Explore is free (1 project, 10 prompts, 310 responses, ChatGPT only). Essential is $95 a month with 50 prompts and 6,000 responses. Professional is $245 with 150 prompts and 18,000 responses. Business is $579 with 350 prompts and 42,000 responses. Agency self-serve plans have unlimited prompts, from $199 a month. All paid plans include every tracked model, and the 7-day trial is on monthly billing for Essential, Professional and the two lower agency plans.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ tracks how a brand appears in AI answers and rolls it into a GEO score. Starter is $295 a month with 3,600 credits, where one credit is one AI response, across 11 models with unlimited topics and prompts. That model rewards careful prompt selection, because a month of credits can disappear faster than expected. It has no published crawler-log product.

3. Scrunch AI

Scrunch AI Core is $250 a month for 125 unique prompts and 5,000 responses, tracking four LLMs. Prompt credits are consumed per engine, so multi-engine tracking eats allowances faster than the headline suggests, and data refreshes weekly. Enterprise adds nine LLMs.

4. Profound

Profound offers a free 7-day trial running 50 prompts daily across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with a fixed prompt set. Enterprise is custom and tracks up to nine answer engines, with an earlier estimate of about $40k a year. Its Prompt Volumes data is a distinctive strength, but the product is now sold as a broad AI Marketer rather than a dedicated prompt monitor, so it ranks below the three above for this use.

5. Other options worth checking

  • Mentionable records which competitors are recommended in your place and the hidden fan-out queries ChatGPT and Perplexity run. Growth is 79 euros a month for 115 prompts.
  • Ahrefs Brand Radar offers Custom Prompts free on paid Ahrefs plans, with a daily quota of 5 prompts on Lite, 10 on Standard and 20 on Advanced.
  • Semrush AI Toolkit was listed at $99 a month per domain with 25 tracked prompts, though we could not re-verify that figure.
  • Am I Cited covers eight engines on every plan from about 50 euros a month, credit-based.
  • Rankscale starts at $20 a month, with credit burn that varies by engine.

6. Simpler trackers

Peec AI is built around prompt-level monitoring with a clean interface, though each tier covers only some models and it does not suggest what to change. Otterly.AI is a quick start at $29 a month for 15 prompts, which is a testing allowance more than a working one.

Who should pick which

You want to know which prompts name you and what to do about the gaps: Promptwatch. The deciding factor is that prompt results connect to citations, crawler logs and visitor analytics, so a missing mention leads to a diagnosis rather than a shrug.

You are an existing Ahrefs or Semrush shop with a handful of prompts: try the add-ons first, accepting their limits.

You are an enterprise team with a procurement process: ask AthenaHQ and Scrunch AI for demos, and ask Profound what is included beyond its trial.

How to set up the first prompt set

Write 30 to 50 prompts across three kinds: questions that never name you, questions that compare you with a named competitor, and questions that name you directly. Track them daily, read a sample of the actual answers before trusting any score, and add a second pass of prompts from Search Console and People Also Ask after two weeks. The questions people really ask are usually messier than the ones marketers write.
