Software to monitor AI answers at scale: seven platforms compared for 2026
Software to monitor AI answers at scale, compared on response volume, daily runs, engines, exports and API access, with sourced prices and who should pick which.
Monitoring a few dozen prompts weekly is a hobby. Monitoring thousands of answers a day across brands, markets and engines is an operations problem, and the software behaves differently under that load. Quotas run out. Credit meters surprise finance. Exports become the only way to get the data into a warehouse. This guide ranks software on how well it holds up at volume.
One scope note. We mean tracking what AI engines say about brands in answers to buyer questions. Observability for your own LLM application, such as tracing and evaluating a chatbot you built, is a separate product category, and we do not cover it here.
What "at scale" actually requires
- Volume that is priced predictably: responses per month, prompts, and how each is counted.
- Daily runs, because answers vary and weekly samples are noisy.
- Several engines, sampled the way users see them.
- Structure: multiple brands, projects, markets, languages.
- Data out: exports, API, Looker Studio, an MCP server.
- Accuracy checks: flagging wrong facts about a brand in answers.
- Governance: roles, audit logs, scoped keys.
The ranking
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch is built for volume with clear quotas. Prompt panels run daily per model, country and language. Brand plans list responses per month: Essential 6,000, Professional 18,000, Business 42,000. Agency plans go further: Kick-off 10,000, Growth 25,000 and Scale 65,000 responses, with unlimited projects, unlimited prompts and 10 seats. A usage alert fires at 85% of a quota, so volume never surprises you. Enterprise offers custom projects and volumes.
For data out: Excel and CSV exports with a column picker, scheduled PDF reports, a Looker Studio connector, REST API v2 with scoped keys (project, org, read-only), and a hosted MCP server with 110+ read and write tools. Roles are owner, editor and viewer, with an audit log from Business. Agent Chat runs multi-step analysis over live data, and Scheduled Chats deliver briefings in-app or in Slack. At volume, the Action Board helps: a Discovery agent suggests up to five evidence-backed actions per weekly run, so a team does not drown in charts.
Models are monitored through the real interface (ChatGPT Search, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity, Amazon Alexa, Meta AI) and via API (Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral, Grok, others). Crawler logs, citation analytics and visitor analytics add evidence behind the answers. Crawler logs start on Professional ($245/mo).
2. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ meters by credit: Starter is $295 a month with 3,600 credits, one per AI response, across 11 models with unlimited prompts and competitors. At scale, credits are the number to model. API access and extra credits are paid add-ons. Enterprise is custom, with SSO and an audit log.
3. Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI Core is $250 a month: 125 prompts and 5,000 responses a month across four LLMs. Enterprise adds nine LLMs, API access, Looker Studio access and SSO, with custom prompts and responses.
4. Profound
Profound offers custom Enterprise volume across up to nine engines, with a 7-day trial and SOC 2. Agents run on credits. Right for a custom agent program.
5. Gauge
Gauge Growth is $599 a month for 600 prompts run daily, or 54,000 answers a month. It covers three platforms (ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot), with Agency Mode at $300 per active client a month. Enterprise adds more platforms.
6. Rankscale
Rankscale is credit-based: Pro is $99 a month for 1,200 credits and up to 4,800 answers, Pro+ is $229 for up to 12,000 answers with a REST API. Cheap per answer, but credit math takes attention.
7. Ahrefs Brand Radar
Ahrefs Brand Radar takes a different route: a pre-collected index of more than 496 million prompts, from $199 a month for the AI Visibility Index. Custom Prompts is limited by small daily quotas (5, 10 or 20 by plan). Good for broad research, not a tracked panel at your own scale.
Accuracy-focused options
If wrong facts about a brand are the worry, look at Uberall GEO Studio (hallucination detection, from $109 a month) and seoClarity (hallucination monitoring, packages from $2,500 a month). Birdeye Search AI traces wrong hours or addresses to their source.
Comparison table
| Software | Volume model | Volume figure | Data out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Promptwatch | Responses per month | 6,000 to 42,000 on brand plans; up to 65,000 on agency | CSV, Excel, Looker Studio, API, MCP |
| AthenaHQ | Credits | 3,600 on Starter | CSV export; API add-on |
| Scrunch AI | Responses per month | 5,000 on Core | API and Looker on Enterprise |
| Gauge | Daily prompts | 54,000 answers on Growth | MCP server, integrations |
| Rankscale | Credits | Up to 4,800 answers on Pro | Looker Studio; API on Pro+ |
Who should pick which
Pick Promptwatch if you want predictable quotas, an agency structure and the evidence layers behind the numbers. Pick AthenaHQ if a task queue matters and you can forecast credits. Pick Gauge if raw daily volume on its three platforms is the goal. Pick Rankscale for low cost per answer. Pick Profound if you want a managed enterprise program.
Practical advice at scale
Do not start at maximum volume. Run a pilot with one brand, then add markets. Model your cost per thousand responses before you commit. Keep branded and unbranded prompts separate. And remember that more answers do not create more insight unless someone reads them, which is why prioritization features matter.
No software can guarantee an AI engine will recommend you. At scale you are buying coverage and evidence.
To test volume handling, run a pilot on the 7-day trial of Promptwatch and watch how the quota and usage alerts behave.
