Tools that analyze how LLMs talk about my company: a comparison of brand monitoring options

Compare the tools that analyze how LLMs talk about your company: mentions, sentiment, framing, competitors and cited sources, with sourced pricing and a clear pick.

When people ask for a tool that analyzes how LLMs talk about their company, they usually want answers to four questions. Do the models mention us at all? What do they say? Who do they put next to us? And where did they get it? A good tool answers all four, across several models, on a schedule. A weak one gives you a single "visibility score" and no way to read the underlying answers.

What the analysis should cover

Mentions and position. Whether the brand appears for the prompts that matter, and whether it is first in the answer or buried in a list.

Sentiment and framing. The tone of the mention and the attributes attached to it: cheap, enterprise, hard to set up, good for small teams. Framing often matters more than the count.

Competitor context. Which brands are named in the same answer, and which are named when you are not.

Sources. The pages, forums and videos the model drew on. If an engine describes your product wrongly, the source is where you fix it.

The raw answers. You should be able to open the actual responses, not just see a chart.

The shortlist

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch covers all five points, and ranks first for that reason. It runs prompt panels daily per model, country and language and reports Visibility Score, Share of Voice, Position in Answer and Sentiment. Sentiment is scored per response on a scale of 1 to 100, with a weekly AI summary of how engines describe the brand. A Brand Book lets you set the analysis instructions that decide what counts as a mention, and brand aliases handle name variants.

For competitor context, it has competitor heatmaps, share of voice and auto-discovered competitors. For sources, citation analytics go down to page, domain, Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn, plus offsite mentions where your brand is named in third-party pages without a link. Agent Analytics adds IP-verified AI crawler logs, so you can tell whether a model could read your pages in the first place.

On coverage, it monitors the live-search platforms ChatGPT Search, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity, Amazon Alexa and Meta AI through their real interfaces. Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral and Grok are tracked through APIs, and an API answer is not always what a person sees in the app. Explore is free (10 prompts, ChatGPT only), Essential is $95 a month, Professional $245 and Business $579.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ tracks how a brand appears in AI answers, rolls the results into a GEO score, and turns gaps into actions. Starter is $295 a month with 3,600 credits across 11 models, where one credit is one AI response. Personas and a citation engine sit on Enterprise.

3. Scrunch AI

Scrunch AI includes sentiment analysis, insights and recommendations, site audits and AI bot traffic reporting. Core is $250 a month for 125 prompts, 5,000 responses and four LLMs: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Nine LLMs come with Enterprise.

4. Profound

Profound is an enterprise platform with Answer Engine Insights and Agent Analytics, now marketed as an AI marketer with agents. Enterprise is custom, with an earlier estimate of about $40k a year.

5. Suite add-ons

Ahrefs Brand Radar offers Custom Prompts with paid Ahrefs plans (5, 10 or 20 a day by plan). HubSpot AEO is $50 a month, tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, and includes citation analysis. Semrush AI Toolkit is an add-on to Semrush.

6. Newer platforms

GetMint (from €74 a month on yearly billing) tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, AI Overviews and Alexa for Shopping mention a brand. Mentionable (from 79 EUR a month) also records which competitors are recommended in your place and which domains engines reuse.

Who should pick which

  • You want to know what models say, why they say it, and what to change: Promptwatch.
  • You want a guided GEO workflow: AthenaHQ.
  • You want sentiment inside a monitoring tool and have a mid-sized budget: Scrunch AI.
  • You are a large enterprise: Profound.
  • You want a cheap first look: HubSpot AEO, or the Ahrefs add-on if you already pay for Ahrefs.

Reading the results with care

Models change their answers by day, country and phrasing, so judge a trend over several weeks, not one response. Sentiment scoring is a judgment call by the tool, so read a sample of raw answers before trusting a number. And remember that analysis is not control: no tool can make a model say what you want, though it can show you which source to fix.
