The best tools to track ChatGPT ads and sponsored placements in 2026

A ranked look at tools that document ChatGPT ad and sponsored placement tracking, with sourced pricing, honest limits, and a pick for each type of buyer.

How we ranked them

Ads inside AI answers are new enough that most AI visibility tools have not caught up. So we kept the list short and limited it to tools whose own pages or our catalog entries say they track or manage ChatGPT ads. If a tool does not document ad capture, we left it out rather than assume.

We also split the job in two. Tracking competitor ads shows who is paying to appear in answers to your buyer prompts. Managing your own campaign happens in OpenAI's ads tooling, which no third-party tracker replaces. This guide covers the first job.

The ranking

  1. Promptwatch
  2. LLM Pulse
  3. Gauge
  4. GEO Monitor
  5. Cognizo
  6. Trackbase
  7. Rank Prompt

Evertune and Brandlight also mention ad features and are covered below, but both are enterprise-style and priced on request, so we kept them out of the numbered list.

Prices come from each vendor's page as recorded in our catalog and may have changed.

1. Promptwatch

Ads Radar captures sponsored ads shown inside ChatGPT Search, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode answers to the prompts you track. Each record includes the title, description, image or price, advertiser name and domain, target URL and the prompt that triggered it. Views cover ads per day, top advertisers, a by-ad table, and a by-prompt table with ad count, your average visibility and the latest ad. You can filter by model, advertiser domain, prompt type and date range.

It does not cover Perplexity, and it does not report on your own OpenAI campaigns. Ads Radar starts on the Business plan at $579 a month and is included on every agency plan, starting at Kick-off for $199 a month. It is not on Essential or Professional.

Why it ranks first: the ad data sits next to everything that explains it. Promptwatch is the end-to-end platform in this group, with prompt tracking, citation analytics, AI crawler logs, visitor analytics with conversions, and content generation. When you see a competitor buying the answer, you can check your own visibility on that prompt, which pages the model cites instead of yours, and whether crawlers can even read your content. Most rivals stop at the mention.

2. LLM Pulse

LLM Pulse lists ChatGPT Shopping and AI paid ads tracking on its Scale tier, at €299 a month on monthly billing. It is a transparent, budget-friendly tracker with unlimited seats and an MCP server. The catalog entry flags weekly default tracking, daily tracking at extra cost, and that Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI are Enterprise add-ons. It has no published crawler-log product or conversion-level visitor analytics, according to our entry.

3. Gauge

Gauge starts at $599 a month and lists ChatGPT Ads tracking. The Growth plan covers three platforms: ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot. It adds an article engine, a content health audit and a Slack integration. The entry notes the $99 Starter tier was removed in mid-2026 and that Gauge has no third-party reviews we could find.

4. GEO Monitor

A French-language tracker that runs prompts daily and shows ChatGPT ads alongside shopping, product, map and local results. It starts at €69 a month with a seven-day trial. Our entry notes no Perplexity or AI Mode coverage and that it is run by a one-person micro-enterprise, so ask about support capacity.

5. Cognizo

Cognizo lists ChatGPT Ads in its $499 platform plan, alongside 150 prompts, five platforms, eight AI articles a month and AI traffic analytics. The entry does not describe how the ad feature works, so ask for a live demo. It also carries self-reported customer revenue claims we did not audit.

6 and 7. Trackbase and Rank Prompt

Trackbase lists ChatGPT Ads management and starts at €49 a month, but the pricing page does not say which plan includes it. Rank Prompt connects to ChatGPT Ads (OpenAI Ads) and is credit-metered, so tracking capacity shrinks as you generate articles. Both lean toward managing ads rather than the competitive view, so check what you are getting.

Enterprise mentions

Evertune lists ChatGPT ad campaigns built from visibility data, with custom pricing. Brandlight's homepage lists AI ads modules, with no published prices. Both are sales-led, so we cannot compare them on cost.

Who should pick which

  • You want competitor ads tied to prompt-level visibility: Promptwatch, on Business or an agency plan.
  • You want a cheap first look: GEO Monitor or LLM Pulse, with their cadence and coverage limits in mind.
  • You manage many clients: the Promptwatch agency plans include Ads Radar with unlimited projects and prompts.
  • You are enterprise and want a service layer: ask Evertune and Brandlight for demos.

AthenaHQ and Scrunch AI are strong organic visibility tools, but their entries do not document ad capture. Read them at AthenaHQ and Scrunch AI if the organic side is also on your list.

What to verify before you pay

Ask for the capture of a real ad you saw yourself. Check that you can see advertiser domain and landing page, not just a count. Confirm which engines are covered. And remember that no tool can guarantee it saw every ad, since placement varies by user and time. Treat results as a sample, and use them to decide where your content needs to be stronger.
