What are the top AI visibility tools for hotels?

The top AI visibility tools for hotels, compared on location tracking, citations and price: Promptwatch, AthenaHQ, Scrunch AI, Yext Scout, BrightLocal and more.

A traveler who once searched "boutique hotel Lisbon" now asks an assistant for a plan: where should two people stay in Lisbon for a long weekend near good food, with a quiet room and a walkable neighborhood, under a certain budget? The answer names a few properties, often with a reason for each. A hotel that is not named loses the booking before it reaches a search results page. AI visibility tools show whether you are named, by which engines, in which kinds of prompts, and which sources the engines relied on.

None of the tools below is built only for hotels, and no tool can guarantee that an engine will recommend your property. What they can do is measure where you stand and show what decides the answer.

What a hotel or hotel group should check

Prompt types that match trips. Hotels face prompts of several kinds: location and neighborhood ("best hotel near the Alfama district"), traveler type ("family-friendly hotel with a pool in Algarve"), occasion ("romantic weekend hotel"), and comparisons ("hotel A versus hotel B"). The tool needs topics, tags and prompt types to separate them.

Location depth. Travel is local by definition. City-level prompts are the default, and groups with several properties need per-property views.

Third-party sources. For hotels, cited sources can sit outside your own site: booking platforms, review sites, travel publications, Reddit threads and YouTube videos. A tool that shows which pages and domains are cited tells you where your property's description is thin, wrong or absent.

Crawler access. Room pages, offers and local guides need to be reachable. Many hotel sites rely on booking engines and scripts that bots may not handle well, so logs matter.

Attribution. Direct-booking teams will ask whether AI answers bring direct traffic.

The ranking

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch is the best fit for hotel brands and groups wanting an end-to-end view. It tracks prompts daily across ChatGPT Search, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity and more, with citation analytics (pages, domains, offsite mentions, Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn reports), IP-verified AI crawler logs, and visitor analytics that count AI-referred sessions and conversions.

For location, country-level tracking is on every paid plan, and state and city tracking starts on Business ($579 a month), alongside local GEO/SEO targeting by coordinates for ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. Business also includes Ads Radar, which captures sponsored ads shown in ChatGPT Search and Google AI answers for your tracked prompts, so you can see who is advertising against your property. Crawler logs start on Professional ($245). Essential is $95, and the free Explore tier covers 10 prompts on ChatGPT only.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ Starter is $295 a month with 3,600 credits and 11 models, plus an Action Center for tasks. It is country-level on Starter, with multi-region on Enterprise. It does not publish crawler logs.

3. Scrunch AI

Scrunch AI Core is $250 a month for 125 prompts and four LLMs, with site audits and bot traffic reporting. Nine engines are Enterprise.

4. Yext Scout

Yext Scout benchmarks location-level visibility against up to 20 local competitors across Google surfaces and several AI engines. It suits hotel groups already using Yext for listings. Pricing is not published.

5. BrightLocal, Synup and Local Falcon

For single properties and small groups, local SEO tools have added AI modules. BrightLocal Local AI Visibility scores each location on ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews, from $41 a month for one location. Synup AEO runs monthly per-location reports from $49 a month. Local Falcon sends the same prompt from points on a geo-grid around a location, from $24.99 a month on a credit system. They are useful and inexpensive, but narrower than a full platform.

6. Profound and suite add-ons

Profound is an enterprise program with custom pricing. Semrush AI Toolkit is listed at $99 a month per domain (not re-verified recently), and Ahrefs Brand Radar is bundled with paid Ahrefs plans.

Who should pick which

  • A hotel group or brand wanting citations, crawlers and bookings in one place: Promptwatch on Professional or Business.
  • A single independent property on a tight budget: start with the free Explore tier, or a local tool such as BrightLocal if you already pay for it.
  • A group already running Yext listings: ask Yext about Scout, then compare.
  • A team with a program budget: Profound, or Promptwatch Business.

A starter prompt set

Write 40 prompts: 10 by neighborhood, 10 by traveler type, 10 by occasion, 10 by comparison. Track for a month, then read the citation list. Fix the descriptions on the sources that matter before writing new content.
