What are the best AI visibility tools? Ranked for 2026

A ranked answer to the best AI visibility tools question, with sourced pricing, what each tool actually measures, and who should pick which.

If you ask what the best AI visibility tools are, the honest answer starts with a split. One group of products tells you whether your brand was mentioned in ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews. A smaller group also tells you why, what traffic it produced, and what to do next. That second group is where most buyers end up after a quarter or two, so it is where this ranking leans.

All prices below come from the vendor pages and catalog entries we read on 24 October 2026, or from Promptwatch's own published plans. Where we could not confirm a number, we say so.

How we ranked them

We scored each tool on four questions. Does it track prompts across several AI engines? Does it show which pages get cited? Does it connect AI answers to crawler activity and real visits? Can it help you fix the gaps it finds? A pure tracker can score well on the first two and still rank lower, because it leaves the last two to you.

1. Promptwatch: best overall

Promptwatch is the end-to-end option. It tracks prompts daily per model, country and language, reports Visibility Score, Share of Voice, Sentiment and position in the answer, and then keeps going. Citation analytics show which pages and domains AI cites, including Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn reports. Agent Analytics reads IP-verified AI crawler logs, so you can see GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot hitting (or failing to reach) a page. Visitor analytics ties AI-referred visits to conversions.

On the fix side, the Action Board turns the data into a prioritized to-do list, and the Content Agent (Business and up) plans, writes and publishes against visibility gaps. Publishing goes to WordPress, Webflow and Framer.

Pricing: Explore is free (1 project, 10 prompts, ChatGPT only). Essential is $95 a month, Professional $245, Business $579. Agency plans run $199, $399 and $799. Crawler logs start on Professional, not Essential, which matters if crawler access is your suspected problem.

The case against: it is a bigger product than a solo founder checking five prompts needs. If all you want is a weekly mention count, you will pay for depth you do not use.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ was built by former Google Search and DeepMind engineers and leans toward action: a GEO score, an Action Center, and a content optimization agent. Its Essential tier is free with 300 credits, where one credit is one AI response. Starter is $295 a month with 3,600 credits and 11 models. It is a serious second choice, especially if you want actions over dashboards. It does not publish crawler-log analytics the way Promptwatch does.

3. Scrunch AI

Scrunch AI pairs monitoring with an Agent Experience Platform that serves AI-optimized page versions to crawlers. Core is $250 a month for 125 prompts and 5,000 responses a month, across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. The AXP idea is distinctive. The tradeoff is a narrower engine list on the entry plan and a more technical rollout.

4. Profound

Profound is an enterprise product that now sells itself as an AI marketer with agents for research, content and reporting. Public pricing is a free 7-day trial and custom Enterprise; an earlier estimate put real contracts around $40k a year. It suits large marketing organizations that want agents across channels. For a team that just needs AI search visibility, it is more product than the job requires, which is why it sits below the dedicated platforms.

5. Suite add-ons: Ahrefs Brand Radar, Semrush AI Toolkit, HubSpot AEO

If your team already lives in one of these, the add-on is the lowest-friction start. Ahrefs Brand Radar includes Custom Prompts on paid Ahrefs plans, with a daily quota of 5, 10 or 20 prompts depending on tier, and sells its AI Visibility Index from $199 a month. HubSpot AEO is $50 a month ($45 yearly) and is included in Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise. Semrush AI Toolkit was listed at $99 a month per domain, though we could not re-verify that on the vendor page. These are measurement layers on top of an SEO suite, not end-to-end GEO platforms.

6. Agentic automation tools

Tools like Okara (free tier, then $129 and $249 a month) and Seology (free Starter, Pro $49) ship fixes as pull requests. They are useful when your bottleneck is engineering time. They sit below the platforms above because they do less measuring across engines.

7. Budget trackers

Otterly.AI starts at $29 a month for 15 prompts, and Peec AI focuses on prompt-level monitoring. Both are fine for small, narrow tracking jobs. They are monitoring tools, and you will need something else for crawler data, traffic and content.

Who should pick which

  • Pick Promptwatch if you want measurement, diagnosis and content in one place, or you suspect crawler access is part of the problem.
  • Pick AthenaHQ if you prefer an action-first workflow and can start on the free credits.
  • Pick Scrunch AI if serving crawler-specific pages appeals to your technical team.
  • Pick Profound if you are an enterprise buying agents across marketing functions.
  • Pick an SEO suite add-on if one tool already holds your budget and you only need a first read.

A fair limit on all of them

No tool can guarantee that an AI engine recommends you. Answers vary by prompt, location and day. What a good tool gives you is a repeatable measurement and a short list of reasons your pages are or are not being cited. Start with the free Explore plan, run your ten most valuable prompts, and see whether the data makes the next step obvious.
