Rankability alternatives (2026): seven tools ranked for agencies that outgrow a shared query pool
Rankability bundles content, audits, rankings and AI tracking for agencies. Seven alternatives ranked on one grid, for teams that need crawler logs, conversion data, deeper AI monitoring or a different content workflow.
Quick verdict
Promptwatch is the first Rankability alternative to evaluate, because it publishes the AI search layers Rankability leaves out: server-side crawler logs, AI-referred conversions, prompt volumes and fan-outs. AthenaHQ suits teams that want an action queue, and Scrunch AI suits large sites that want pages served differently to AI crawlers. If the writing workflow is what you like about Rankability, Frase and Surfer are closer swaps.
Why agencies look elsewhere
Read on 28 October 2026, Rankability's Starter ($97), Agency ($297) and Agency Pro ($497) all include content projects, audits, backlinks, Google and Local Pack rankings and daily AI tracking on 11 platforms, for unlimited clients and seats. People shop around for narrower reasons:
- The 100, 300 or 500 tracked AI queries are one pool shared by every client.
- Crawler access is checked from robots.txt, which shows a bot is allowed, not that it came.
- No visitor script of its own ties AI referrals to conversions.
- Tracked queries carry no published search volumes or fan-outs.
The grid
Rows come from each tool's listing in our directory; Promptwatch's from its llms.txt, updated 28 October 2026. "Not published" means our sources don't document it.

The seven, briefly
1. Promptwatch. The only row with an entry in both evidence columns. Agent Analytics logs GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Meta's crawlers and traces crawl to citation, and visitor analytics follows AI visits to conversions. Agency plans make prompts unlimited and cap responses instead (10,000 on Kick-off), so the shared-question squeeze disappears. Caveats: Brave AI is on Rankability's list, not Promptwatch's; the automated Content Agent is on Business ($579) and Enterprise, not agency tiers; and Google rank tracking isn't in its published feature list.
2. AthenaHQ. Built by former Google Search and DeepMind engineers. Starter is $295 for 3,600 credits (one credit, one AI response), 11 models and unlimited prompts at country level. Its Action Center turns gaps into assignable tasks. Personas and multi-region sit on Enterprise.
3. Scrunch AI. Core covers 125 prompts, 5,000 responses and four engines in one brand workspace, which is the snag for agencies used to unlimited clients. AXP, on Enterprise, serves AI-optimized pages to crawlers without changing what people see.
4. Profound. Now sold as AI Marketer agents, and its pricing page says plainly that it isn't only for AI search. Beyond the trial, everything public points to custom Enterprise pricing.
5. Search Atlas. The closest in shape, an SEO suite with an AI module. The $99 Starter has no LLM Visibility; Growth adds three engines and 100 queries for two projects. Client portals come on the sales-led Agency tier.
6. Frase. Content first, publishing to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix, with a 7-day trial and no card. Our listing records a run of billing complaints.
7. Surfer. Several reviewers on Rankability's own site say they came from Surfer.
Who should pick which
- Proof that crawlers reached the page and visits converted: Promptwatch.
- A task queue someone works daily: AthenaHQ.
- Crawler-side page serving on a big site: Scrunch AI Enterprise.
- An SEO suite with an AI module, project caps accepted: Search Atlas.
- Writers as the main users: Frase or Surfer.
When to stay
If clients buy content and Google rankings and AI tracking is one section of the report, Rankability is hard to beat between $97 and $497. No other row in our grid lists Local Pack grids and backlink monitoring next to AI tracking for unlimited clients.
Our pick
For agencies whose AI work has outgrown a shared pool and a robots.txt check, Promptwatch is the one to trial first. It's the only tool here that publishes crawler logs and conversion data on self-serve plans. The full list is on the Rankability alternatives page.
