Best local AI visibility tools in 2026

Eight local AI visibility tools ranked: location granularity, engines, starting price, trials, crawler logs and AI traffic attribution, using only published vendor data.

Quick verdict

Local AI visibility tools fall into two camps. Listings and reputation suites (Yext, Birdeye, Uberall, BrightLocal, Synup, Reputation) have added AI modules that score each store. Specialists measure the answer itself: Local Falcon samples it across a map grid, and Promptwatch runs daily prompt panels from a country, state, city or exact coordinate.

Promptwatch ranks first because it's the only tool here that pairs local targeting with the layers you need to act on the data: AI crawler logs, page-level citations, and AI-referred visits with conversions. The suites win when your main problem is listing accuracy and you already pay for them.

The comparison table

Every cell comes from the tool's entry in our catalog. "Not stated" means the vendor materials we used don't say.

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch monitors carry a location, a language, an optional persona and a set of models, and the prompt panels run daily. Country targeting is on every paid plan. State and city come with Business ($579/mo, no trial) and every agency plan (Kick-off $199, Growth $399, Scale $799). Local GEO/SEO targeting, added in October 2026, pins a monitor to exact coordinates with a 20 m to 5 km radius, so ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode answer as if asked from that spot; other models fall back to country, state or city. That's on Business, Agency Scale and Enterprise.

The reason it ranks first is what sits around that targeting. Agent Analytics shows IP-verified visits from GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and other AI crawlers to each location page, with a citation rate per page (from Professional and on every agency plan). Citation analytics show which pages, domains, Reddit threads, YouTube videos and LinkedIn posts got cited. Visitor analytics tie AI-referred sessions to conversions. Ads Radar, on Business and agency plans, shows which advertisers appear in ChatGPT Search, AI Overviews and AI Mode for your local prompts. The Content Agent on Business writes and publishes pages to WordPress, Webflow or Framer. Agencies get unlimited projects and prompts with 10 seats, and a white-label workspace and client portal are offered for agencies. What Promptwatch doesn't do is manage your business listings.

2. Uberall GEO Studio

Uberall's location marketing platform added GEO Studio in December 2025, built in partnership with AthenaHQ. It tracks share of voice, citations and mentions by persona, location and competitor, breaks sources down to domain, page and social source, and publishes approved content to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix or Framer. Prices are published and both self-serve plans have a 7-day trial. The catch: location-level tracking and daily runs start on GEO Scale at $449/mo, and Uberall's pages disagree on whether the full engine list is nine or 11. See our Uberall GEO Studio review.

3. Local Falcon

The geo-grid specialist. Local Falcon sends the same prompt from every point on a grid around a location and maps where you're recommended, reporting Share of AI Voice, a Buyer Persuasion Score and the competitors named instead. It's cheap to start, with unlimited keywords and locations on every plan, but credits (one per grid point) multiply quickly with grid size, keywords, platforms and frequency, and monthly credits expire. Read our Promptwatch vs Local Falcon comparison for the method trade-off.

4. Birdeye Search AI

A module in Birdeye's reviews and listings suite with seven engines and per-location reporting. Its Accuracy report traces wrong hours or addresses to the source and auto-corrects listings Birdeye manages. Pricing isn't published, usage is metered by locations x frequency x engines x prompts, and the default scan is monthly. More in Promptwatch vs Birdeye Search AI.

5. Yext Scout

The most location-literate benchmarking we've seen: each store against its 20 closest competitors, with fixes routed into Yext Listings, Reviews and Pages. It ranks fifth because it covers about four engines, with no agreement across Yext's pages on which, and there's no public price. Strong inside Yext, hard to buy outside it. See Promptwatch vs Yext Scout.

6. BrightLocal Local AI Visibility

Included at no extra cost on BrightLocal's Track, Manage and Grow plans. Each location gets up to 20 prompts on three engines, a 0 to 100 score against the local competitors AI recommends, and citation gaps that feed straight into Citation Builder. It's an easy yes for existing BrightLocal customers. The limits are three engines, a hard 20-prompt cap and, per its help center, no export or white-label yet. Our BrightLocal review has the plan details.

7. Synup AEO

A beta module in Synup's local suite. Synup writes 16 discovery prompts per location, runs them on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity (the product page also lists Copilot) and refreshes the report monthly. Pricing is per location band from $49/mo, with white-label from Premium. The monthly cadence and the fact that you can't, per the pages we read, add your own prompts make it a directional check more than a tracking tool. See the Synup AEO review.

8. Reputation AI Location Presence Insights

A per-location dashboard inside Reputation's listings product, given as a no-cost upgrade to Business Listings and Rep Core customers. It checks whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity have each location's address, phone and hours right, plus mentions and sentiment. Results refresh monthly by default, the engines are reached through enterprise APIs, and fixes happen on the source sites rather than in the tool. Details in our Reputation review.

What about AthenaHQ and Scrunch?

Both are strong general AI visibility platforms, and both rank high in our main best AI visibility tools list. Neither is a local tool on our listings. AthenaHQ Starter is single country, with multi-region on Enterprise, and our Scrunch AI entry doesn't document city-level tracking. If you need city or store-level answers, they aren't the right fit at entry prices.

How to pick

If your problem is wrong location details in AI answers and you already use a listings suite, turn on its AI module first. It's usually included or cheap. If you need to grow AI visibility and prove it brings customers, you need more engines, daily data, crawler logs and attribution, and that's where Promptwatch leads. Our local buying checklist walks through the criteria, and how to test a local AI visibility tool in a free trial covers which local features you can actually try before paying.
